Ice Fishing

So Brian and I made a trip to cold Logan, Utah during Christmas break. Brian's grandpa took us ice fishing while we were there. For those of you who do not know what ice fishing is, it is when you go fishing over a frozen lake. Well I have to admit at first I was freaked out to be in the middle of a frozen lake drilling a hole into the ice for fish! But I did it anyway. It was actually pretty fun and I am proud to announce I caught the biggest fish! Check out pictures from our adventure.

If you think it looks cold outside you are right! It was freezing!(this is grandpa Neal's friend that came along with us)

The outcome...now to clean the fish...ew.

Brian and grandpa Neal

Me and my fish....I felt so bad I almost threw it back in the freezing water.

Once there was a snowman, our sad snowman. we were having trouble making him tall!

La familia Montoya por toda la eternidad

Well, I blogged about Brian's good luck. But I failed to mention MANY things. Which I decided to randomly post when I want and in Spanglish :)

Acontecimiento 1: Sellamiento de la familia Montoya

A family that we dearly love in our Rama Sonora got sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple in December. Brian and I were fortunate enough to be there :) It was a happy time for them. And it was my first sealing (with a whole family) in Spanish! It was a great experience.

So, while all the beautiful brides were coming out of the Temple Hermana Montoya popped right out in her hermoso gown. Many from our rama were there to support la familia Montoya.

A lot of you may know (or not know) that when it comes to pictures I like to be in charge. By this, I really mean that I like posing people. (Liz, Whitney, Kirsten know what I am talking about, it runs in the family....remember my picture by the fireplace?? haha). So since la familia Montoya did not have a photographer, Brian and I happily stepped in! And here are a few that I took. I know I am no photographer, but these pictures are all this family has for tangible memories. So Brian took the pictures and I "positioned" the Montoya family. haha!! Well, we love the familia Montoya and we are so happy for their decision to be sealed in the Temple. They are a great family and their kids are super cute :)

Suerte

Brian recently had the luckiest day ever. We were in Phoenix, back from our Utah adventure, and decided to go see Blind Side. Which is a great movie! Then we found cheap tickets online to the Suns game. So Brian, my mom, and myself went out to have some fun! We got there early because if you get there 1 hour before the game you get autographs from the players. Anyways, the Suns were playing the Houston Rockets that night. And if you are a big U of A basketball fan you would know that Chase Budinger just got signed with the Rockets. (side note: Brian won the U of A Chase Budinger look-a-like, haha!!, don't ask me how).

SO, we got to the game later than planned, and missed seeing Chase and the rest of the Suns! We were so bummed! So anyway, Brian asked a man that worked there about Chase and he just walked away. It was really odd, but we decided to wait to see if he would come back. He certainly did with 3 post-game locker room passes to meet the Houston Rockets. Yep! So we were so excited to go meet them and get some pictures and autographs. So we are sitting at the game and see a lot of open seats in a lower level. So Brian goes to check it out and as he is checking it out the blimpe that drops tickets practically dropped the tickets into Brian's hands! He got 6 free tickets to a concert at the Casino. It was certainly becoming Brian's lucky day! So after the game we did just that we went and meet the Rockets. Brian got his U of A hat signed and all was well. It was certainly a memorable experience.
So does Brian look like Chase?
