Aloha

So Brian and I have been super busy up to now it seems. Well for starters, we had our own "Christmas in Tucson", really all it consisted of was opening our 1 present to each other. Yep.
Brian as happy as a little boy on Christmas Day!!

We went to Prescott for a few days before Christmas and spent time with Brian's family and also the Novaes family from Brazil. Brian's family hosted their 2 sons (separately) as foreign exchange students while Brian was in high school. Anyway, the whole family came to visit and it was a great time. I got to learn some Portuguese and they invited us to visit them...Brian says we are going to Brazil for the World cup in 2014 haha. We will see. Anyway, Brian and I spent Christmas with my family. It was so fun to be altogether and especially with Brian! :)

Well after Christmas Brian and I had the special opportunity to go to Hawaii!! Brian's grandparents had their 50th Wedding Anniversary and decided to take the WHOLE family on a cruise. There were so many little Mortensons running around that ship, 50 in total (if you count the babies) haha. Anyway, I got to meet all of Brian's family (great people). We went on an inter-island cruise. So we got to see all the Hawaiian islands. We ported in O'ahu, Honolulu, and then we went to Maui for 2 days, then the big island, Hilo first then the next day we stopped in Kona, then Kauai, and then back to O'ahu. It was such a blast. We did so much, visited the beaches, even saw a black sand beach, went surfing (Brian taught me how...SO much fun), saw some dolphins and wales, saw a surf competition on North Shore (Bonzai Pipline), went to the Volcanoe National Park (yes they are still active), saw tons of beautiful waterfalls, went on a 27 mile bike ride down a volcanoe!, Pearl Harbor, Napali Coast, Iao Needle, Waimeaa canyon, snorkeling in Hanauma Bay, visited the Dole plantation, Matsumotos, Polynesian Cultural Center and so much more. We spent New Year's there and after the cruise we stayed on O'ahu in North Shore, where Brian had lived (in Laie) and stayed with some friends for a few extra days. I met a lot of new great people and had so much fun.

NOW: Brian and I are in school. In fact, today was my first day. Soon I will start working (for the U of A as a tutor), and vacation is over and life begins again...
