Its New York! So recently, as in Valentine's Day weekend, my parents, Jonathan and Brian and I left for NY for my cousin Ines's wedding on Feb. 14. We left Thursday afternoon and got back LATE Sunday night. Let me just declare that was one of the most tiring weekends ever. I am still tired!
So I have to mention the crazy plane ride on the way to New York, well our flight was delayed for about 2 hours, because of weather in NY, well that same night as we were flying over was the same night that the plane crash occurred in up-state NY. It was soooo scary, I was sure we were going to die a couple of times. The plane was shaking everywhere and I heard noises coming from the plane I had never heard before, haha, true story! The good part is we landed safely and we are all alive.
Jonathan and Brian having some fun at the wedding....acting tough?
Friday morning we did the regular NY tradition, and went to La Nueva in Queens, it is pretty much like South America there, Spanish is more common than English. Anyway, we took the subway and started our way to the city by stopping in Canal St. If you haven't heard of or gone to Canal St. before you should go. It is in China town and they sell the best stuff for super cheap. So yes, of course I bought a new purse and lots of other things....as for my father, he bought another Rolex hahah. We ended up in Manhattan later, and walked around Times Square, made our way over to 5th Avenue and then to Central Park. It doesn't sound far but we walked SOO much.

Valentine's Day was the BIG day for my cuz and first we ate breakfast at La Pequena Colombia with my uncle, it is delicious Colombian food. We got ready and went over to the church and helped set up, soon the ceremony was on and everything turned out beautifully. We headed over to the reception hall afterwards and ate and DANCED all night...more dancing though. Brian got a taste of a real Latin party. Afterwards we decided to drive around the city at night and it was awesome. Brian got to see Manhattan all lit up.
We spent Sunday with the family and somehow found time to head over to Flushing for a while, anyway, we ended our day at the airport (another bumpy ride, which was not as scary but still terrifying). After landing and getting home around 10, we made our trek to Tucson....
So we payed a little extra to get to feed the giraffes. And it was soo fun! I recommend everyone does that at least once in life! Did you know their tongue is black? And about 20 inches + long!! Yeah, it is so true. Believe it or not I found that out for myself in the next picture. Brian finds this picture hilarious, I almost cried...
As you can see that tonguey almost got me!! I was going to feed Alberto (is what I call him) some food when that tongue stretched farther than Texas towards me, so I got scared and retreated...I was going for the fetal position, but I didn't make it. Anyway, Alberto and I are cool now because I very nicely laid the biscuit thing on his nasty tongue and ran away. But I couldn't leave without a picture first. So here is Brian and I, and Brian's new best friend, Alberto.
