Is that my baby?

Gosh I have been behind in so behind in blogging because I couldn't find my camera cord to post pictures, until now!! Anyway, this is what you get....

So today in church, it was random as usual. But this Sunday was especially odd. Well, we are sitting in sacrament, we had just sung the first hymn then all of a sudden everything stops. and the president of our branch starts starring at Brian and I. And at about this time announcements are made and then another hymn and the blessing of the sacrament, so everyone is waiting for President to get up and preside. Well, he is just starring and all of a sudden he starts pointing at us...well Brian actually. And we are confused, and Brian is like "who? me?" and it was a funny moment but Brian heads up to the stand and sits down, then a woman (who no one knew) comes up to the stand with a baby and hands the baby to Brian. HAHA. I almost die laughing. SO, I guess she wants her baby blessed but in English, and since Brian was the first white boy presidente saw he called him up to bless this lady's baby. Well, Brian was freakin out because he had never done that nor knew the blessing but presidente told him what to say and he just had to translate the beginning. I think the funniest part of this story is that Brian didn't ever know the gender of the baby! hahaha. In the blessing he would call the baby "it" and "this child" hahaha. Oh boy, at one point he called the baby a "he"! Luckily the baby was a boy! Well you would think by the name you could tell what it was but Presidente told him the baby was call "Chandell" which he mistook for the Latin name "Yandell", thus why Brian thought it MAY be a girl, either way the name doesn't sound too masculine to me! Anyway, now our branch thinks Brian has a baby named Yandell. The end.

So this is what you have missed so far...

Katie and Ferenc got married!!
Here is picture of the old Tucson girls, reunited! And who is that child?

Celebrating July 4th with Brad and Emily (and baby Carson), watching the fireworks at A mountain...can I add the ice cream trucks play "la cucaracha"! haha
My mom's cousin, so my 2nd cousin?? Anyway, Sandra and her daughter, Cata, came to visit all the way from Colombia :) They even made a special visit to Tucson. We were glad to have them!

This past weekend Brian and I decided to go hike 7 Falls, in Sabino Canyon in northeastern Tucson. It was a great experience and beautiful!! It was a little less than 10 miles, so we were exhausted when we got back to the car. We started the hike around 6:30 and didn't finish it until 11:30ish. Thankfully, when you get to the end of the canyon there is a swiiming hole, so Brian jumped in, it was freezing cold. Anyway I highly suggest the hike for anyone, just take a LOT of water!

At the swimming hole taking a break and about to head back

The sun was just coming up...so pretty!

Yes, the water was VERY cold!!! haha

Random

Well there really isn't much to say, I just felt the need for blogging! Some news, Brian got a new calling at church, he is no longer Young Men's President. There was a rumor (by the missionaries he was going to be Ward Mission Leader, or however it goes) but no, he is now the Sonora Branch Scoutmaster! Yay hahahaha. I can't help but laugh. I myself got out of that situation because, well, let's just say there was some calling reinforcements and now I am not in charge of weekly cub scouts. But I do have to mention the last activity I planned was to act out a clip of a movie (No, I did not make that up, it is in the BEAR book as a requirement!) Anyway the kids chose Star Wars and I just have to say it was the funniest thing ever! I love those kids but at the same time I am very glad they are not mine!! haha.

So what else is new? This is my last week of work, since I took a seasonal job, it was some hard but fun 8 weeks. Now I am job searching once again, let me know if you hear of anything Part-time.

Well I will leave you with a funny sign I found on my cousin (marc anthony la rosa's) facebook. He is in Peru right now with his family and they went to the zoo, and I am so glad he took a picture of this sign because it is so funny! Looks like they need to hire a translator! lol.

Life is changing

Welp as you all may know or not know a lot has changed. First I want to give a shout out to Katie and Ferenc who are now happily married! Love you guys! And don't worry pictures of that are next!

I feel like so much is changing in my life. School, work, our futures, make me wonder where we will be in 2 years....

Well, my lil' brother has left on his mission. Yep, Elder Jonathan David La Rosa is now in the Preston MTC (UK) serving the Lord for 2 years. It was so hard to see him go but I couldn't help but be so happy! Lots of mixed emotions but in the end I know it will be more joyous. Jonathan was such a great example to the family, and I know this will greatly bless our family and friends.... in fact, the blessings have already began in the most subtle ways. It is amazing how Heavenly Father can bless families, especially once they are obedient and have faith. Brian and I have definitely noticed it in our lives. Especially since we each have a younger brother on a mission; John (CA) and Jonathan (UK). We are so happy and excited for them and wish them the best as they willingly serve the Lord.

In case you would like to write a spiritually uplifting letter to John or Jonathan or just say hello here are their addresses. I know they would LOVE it!!

Well I have more to blog about!!!

This weekend my parents were able to come and see my humble home, it was good to have them here!! Also we got to spend part of the 4th of July with Brad, Emily and baby Carson! It was good to see them and spend time with family!

After going back and forth to Phoenix we have been able to go to our own ward here in Tucson this weekend. And I have been thinking I want to go back to Phoenix! haha. Being in the primary has shown me how wonderful and terrible kids are....I think I will wait just a few more years before even thinking about having some of my own! This Sunday was chaos! There is no help in our poor little Spanish branch, yet they have promised more Primary callings soon, so that leaves me hopeful. But yes it is just the president and myself and about 30 little ones running around. Since we don't have any teachers we had sharing time together....bad idea, the older kids were just as naughty as the younger kids!

So we tried to do singing time ourselves, and Hermana B (to keep her identity confidential haha) asked me to play the piano. Well you must know that I once played the piano....when I was 8, so the songs were in Spanish and the piano book in English so I had to quickly translate it and find the same one in English to play it, haha, so I tried and failed. I still don't know what song I ended up butchering, even with 2 fingers haha, I was just doing my own thing on the piano until Hermana B was like, "it's o.k. you don't have to play anymore!" haha, oh boy. I promised her I would practice and then try again next week, she just laughed. So if there is anyone out there willing to teach me a thing our two about piano HELP! Our branch doesnt have any musical talent, no know plays the piano. My husband told me I have to start learning, so here I go.....we will see what happens....
